The 26-episode first season covers projects in Phase Four of the MCU, while a second covers projects in Phase Five. It received positive responses for being helpful to casual viewers of the franchise, but criticism for being a clip show with no new footage or documentary elements. Marvel Studios: Legends premiered on January 8, 2021, with subsequent episodes releasing shortly before a Disney+ series or special's premiere or a film's initial release. The series was first announced in December 2020. Produced by Marvel Studios, each episode showcases an individual character or object with footage from past MCU films and Disney+ series, highlighting their prominent moments from the MCU. The Toy Biz Marvel Legends line ran for sixteen series, with releases ranging from extremely popular characters like Captain America and Iron Man to niche and fan-favorite character like Deathlok and Vision.Īccessory: Display of Destroyed building American flag, stand and copy of Captain America issue Captain America #109Īccessory: Stand and copy of Incredible Hulk Incredible Hulk #314Īccessory: Stand, removable faceplate and copy of Iron Man Iron Man #149Īccessory: Swamp stand and copy of X-Men 4Īccessory: Stand.Marvel Studios: Legends is an American television docuseries created for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics characters and objects that appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). There were also 2099 and Scarlet Spider K.B Toys exclusives. Series 2 featured a First Appearance Spider-Man, Daredevil, a First Appearance Daredevil variant, Battle Ravaged Spider-Man, and Rhino. Series one featured a Classic Spider-Man, Symbiote Spider-Man, Man-Spider, and Venom. For example, Series 15 Thorbuster Iron Man's variant is the Destroyer from the Thor comics, and Captain Marvel's variant is his son, Genis Vell. Some series released a completely different character as a variant. Since then, almost every series has contained at least one variant or 'chase figure' (for example, the Series 5 Red Skull is not on the back of the Series 5 packaging). However, another variant didn't surface again until as late as Series 6, where variants of Cable, Phoenix, and Series 3's Wolverine were released. It included a torn shirt that wasn't included with the original. Series 1 contained Annihilus, 2 contained Blob, 3 contained the Brood Queen, and 4 contained ( Holocaust).Įarly in the Toy Biz run, (series two), a variation or 'variant' of series one's Hulk was released. When Hasbro took over the license in 2007, they started right away including new Build-A-Figures. Other BAF figures include Giant Man (Wal*Mart series), Onslaught, Mojo, and M.O.D.O.K. In Series 12 it was back again with a 16-inch Apocalypse figure. However, for unknown reasons, it stopped in Series 11, instead including a type of vehicle relevant to each character rather than a BAF piece. This trend seemed to be a big hit, and continued in Series 10 (the Sentinel series). Build-A-Figure (or BAF) allowed the collector to build an 18-inch action figure that wouldn't normally be able to be sold due to packaging size issues. Beginning with Series 8 (and later in Series 11 and 13), they also began a new craze, including a piece of a larger scale action figure with each figure in a series. Toy Biz originally included a comic or mini-poster as well as a display stand with each figure. The line returned in 2012 under the label "The Return of Marvel Legends." In 2014, the line was rebranded into the "Infinite Series". 16 series were made by Toy Biz, and in 2007 Hasbro bought the Marvel license, producing the line for a few years before production was halted. The Marvel Legends line was originally intended to be a spinoff line from Spider-Man Classics, but soon became widely popular and massive in span. 44.8 Black Panther Legacy Collection (2022).44.6 Marvel Legends 20th Anniversary (2022).44.1 Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years (2018).20.75 Guardians of the Galaxy Legends 4.20.27 Guardians of the Galaxy Legends 3.20.24 Guardians of the Galaxy Legends 2.20 Hasbro's Return of Marvel Legends (2012).11 Fantastic Four, Hulk and X-Men Classics.7.2 Toy Biz 2006 Giant Man Wal*Mart exclusive series.7.1 Toy Biz 2005 Fantastic Four Boxed Set.6.11 Series 11: The Legendary Riders series.
